Remember I mentioned George and Goldberg Design? In particular, a “Gentleman” named Harold Mendenhall… well – I am STILL trying to collect from these people after almost a year.
This is what really bothers me. We were dealing with a very reputable client, David George. David has a very long and solid history in this industry as being a straight shooter, and very good at what he does. The problem is, when we made this sale, David failed to inform us that he’d sold his company to this new person Harold Mendenhall – who would ultimately stiff us on payment.
I’ve spoken with David about this – and he basically has washed his hands saying I have (and I quote) “no fiduciary responsibilities or obligations with the new corporation”. In other words, “Sorry dummy – you’re on your own”.
Is that how this industry now works? Seller beware? I can assure you, LED Source, who sold to these people – will be MUCH more careful now. In otherwords, yes – the good people will pay for the actions of the bad.
In my opinion, you should be VERY careful when dealing with either of these individuals. Harold seems to pay this poorly with everyone, and David… well – let’s say he appears fine with having thrown my company under the bus on this.
